About the College: Founded in 1914, Dunwoody is a private, not-for-profit, endowed institution of higher education. It is the oldest institution of its kind in the Upper Midwest, with an international reputation for outstanding educational programs. It is also the only non-profit, technical college in the Upper Midwest and one of only three nationwide.
Dunwoody offers associate and bachelor’s degrees as well as a variety of certificate and diploma programs. Dunwoody is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.
About the Automated Systems and Robotics Program: Started in 1994, the Automated Systems & Robotics (ASRO) program provides students with the entry-level skills and theoretical knowledge to maintain the latest in automated manufacturing, packaging and industrial robotic systems.
The course of study includes: basic electricity and electronics; mechanical systems; electronic sensors; programmable logic controllers (PLCs); industrial robotics; motion-control systems; and advanced packaging and manufacturing systems. The robotics program is certified by Fanuc Robotics.
The ASRO curriculum is aligns with standards set forth by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), the Robotics Industry Association (RIA), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Instrumentation Society of America (ISA). Arts & Sciences curriculum supports the technical coursework by enhancing the students’ communication, mathematics and critical thinking skills.
Degree Information: Graduates earn an associate of Applied Science degree; the program takes two years (four semesters) to complete. 2+2 Bachelor of Science degree options are available.
